About Me
Who am I? I am Maartje Hensen (she/they), a queer photographer and writer! I started photographing at a young age and bought my first DSLR as a teenager. And though most of my interests are fleeting, photography stuck with me!
All Round
I am an all round photographer; I love photographing many different things. Early 2017, I went on a world trip with my girlfriend (the trip lasted 3 years) and from that moment I started doing photography on a daily basis. And that’s how it became more than a hobby!
It all started with travel photography and on the road, my girlfriend and I started a travel blog and Instagram. All of a sudden, I was working in front and behind the camera.
I also found out that I love letting people, products, and locations shine! And that’s how I started doing photography jobs for hotels and destinations, started offering photoshoots and how I became a wedding photographer too. My absolute favorite: a destination wedding!
My imagery is colorful, happy, and personal; like me! I love working on location, with natural light and as little ‘stuffy’ posing as possible.
I am specialized in LGBT photography; everyone is welcome in front of my camera. As a queer woman, I know it can be uncomfortable if you don’t know if you can be yourself completely!
